Founded in 1853, Revue Thommen draws on 168 years of experience and tradition in the manufacture of mechanically robust Swiss Made watches, appreciated by people who take the highest responsibility for themselves and others – in aviation, sports, the military and mountaineering, among other fields.
The company originally began under the name Société d’Horlogerie à Waldenbourg before it was taken over by an entrepreneur from the village of Waldenburg, Gédéon Thommen, in 1859. Thommen changed the name to Thommens Uhrenfabrik AG, and the company steadily produced thousands of watches each year. The establishment of Thommen Flight Instruments in 1936 marked the beginning of the company’s second pillar with the production of precision aviation instruments.
In 2012, Andreas Thommen along with four partners took over the Revue Thommen watch brands with the establishment of GT Thommen Watch AG. The great-great-grandson of Gédéon, Andreas Thommen is the fourth generation of Thommens to continue the family tradition, manufacturing solid mechanical Swiss Made watches, put to the test and prized by people wherever a watch is more than a fashion accessory and reliability and robustness are a must.
Co-owned and managed by the Thommen family, GT Thommen Watch AG continues the long tradition of manufacturing robust Swiss Made mechanical watches. For close to 170 years the Thommen’s Uhrenfabrik (watch factory) in Switzerland has been developing solid watches, put to the test and prized by people who take the highest responsibility for themselves and others – in aviation, sports, the military and mountaineering, among other fields. Wherever a watch is more than a fashion attribute and reliability and robustness are a must, you’ll find our watches.
